Government Relations
UCSC Government Relations serves as the primary liaison for the campus between local, state, and federal government agencies. Our goal is to build strategic relationships and generate support for the campus research, educational, and public service initiatives.
UC and the Federal Government
The federal government is an essential partner to the University of California, helping ensure that UC is an economic and innovation engine for California and the nation. The federal government provides support for UC in three crucial areas: student financial aid, research, and health care delivery and training. These funds help UC educate our nation’s workforce, advance scientific and technological breakthroughs, and provide world-class medical training and patient care.
University of California research stimulates the economy through the development of new technologies, leads to the creation of jobs, companies and industries, and advances scientific breakthroughs that benefit the entire world. This is possible because of the tremendous research expertise at UC and the partnership with the federal government. Robust and sustained investments in our research agencies are critical to ensuring that our nation’s research enterprise can continue to lead the way for the next generation.
